Bree Calhoun
BSNW Founder and Chief Executive Officer
M.S., BCBA, LBA
Bree is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 15 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Throughout her career, she has worked alongside children, families, and interdisciplinary teams in home, school, community, and clinic settings. She is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is individualized to each child’s strengths, needs, and goals.
Bree believes that meaningful progress happens when families are true partners in the therapeutic process. She is committed to creating supportive, engaging learning environments where children feel safe, respected, and empowered to grow. Her clinical interests include early intervention, caregiver coaching, naturalistic and play-based teaching, social and communication development, and building meaningful skills that improve quality of life.
Beyond her professional experience, Bree is also a mom to neurodiverse children. That perspective has shaped both her personal and professional approach, giving her a deep appreciation for the joys, challenges, and advocacy that come with raising children who experience the world differently. She understands the importance of meeting families where they are, listening without judgment, and providing support that is practical, compassionate, and collaborative.
As the founder of Bright Steps Northwest, Bree’s vision is to create a practice where children are celebrated for who they are, families feel genuinely supported, and clinicians are empowered to provide exceptional care. She believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in an environment built on trust, connection, and respect.
Outside of the clinic, Bree enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, strength training, exploring local coffee shops, and getting outdoors whenever she can. She loves creating calm, welcoming spaces and believes those environments help children and the people who support them feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.
